Ready to touch down in Madrid!
BREAKING: Hundreds of thousands of protesters flood the streets across France as a nationwide general strike intensifies, with authorities expecting as many as 700,000 demonstrators at roughly 220 protests today. The demonstrations, initially driven by students demanding better school conditions, have expanded into widespread protests over rising living costs, low wages and government budget cuts. France has deployed up to 70,000 police officers nationwide to prevent a repeat of the violence seen in recent weeks, while the U.S. Embassy warns American travelers to remain alert. Dearborn civil rights attorney Amir Makled made history Tuesday night, winning a seat on the University of Michigan Board of Regents and becoming the first Muslim and Arab American elected to the university’s governing board. Makled, a Democrat and outspoken supporter of Palestinian rights, gained statewide attention for defending University of Michigan students and protesters who faced criminal charges following pro-Palestinian demonstrations on campus. In 2024, police dismantled a pro-Palestinian encampment at the university, leading to arrests and felony charges against several demonstrators. Makled represented one of the defendants, arguing that peaceful political expression should not be criminalized. In May 2025, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel’s office dropped felony charges against seven people arrested during the demonstrations. Nessel maintained that the cases had merit but cited ongoing controversy surrounding the prosecutions. Makled’s advocacy extended beyond the courtroom. In April 2025, he reported being detained and questioned by federal agents at Detroit Metropolitan Airport after returning from a family vacation. Makled said agents questioned him about his legal work and sought access to his cellphone. Federal officials disputed his suggestion that the encounter was politically motivated. His campaign for the Board of Regents emphasized protecting free speech, defending students’ rights and increasing accountability within university leadership. Makled’s nomination also drew significant attention in April when Michigan Democratic Party delegates backed him over incumbent Regent Jordan Acker amid disagreements over the university’s response to pro-Palestinian demonstrations. The University of Michigan Board of Regents oversees the university’s governance, finances and major institutional policies. Makled’s election marks a historic milestone for Michigan’s Arab American and Muslim communities, bringing a new perspective to one of the state’s most influential public university governing boards.
“He had a wife. I had a vision.” really? THIS is why I get so irritated when people act like the other woman is always innocent. Some of these women literally see a wife as competition. They KNOW he’s married, they KNOW there’s another woman at home, and somehow that just makes them want him more. And PLEASE spare me the “he’s the one who made the vows” comments. WE KNOW. Nobody is defending that cheating loser. But since when do you have to be the one who made the vows to have basic human decency??? You knowingly participated in another woman’s betrayal and now you’re BRAGGING about it like it’s some cute love story? Girl, you didn’t win. You got yourself a man who’s already proven he has no problem betraying the woman he claims to love. Congratulations, I guess. 🥴 And to the woman who was betrayed, PLEASE stop comparing yourself to the other woman. She’s not prettier than you, she’s not better than you, and she doesn’t have something you were missing. (Except the fact her morals and standards were lower than yours) His decision to cheat was never a reflection of your worth. And don’t let anyone make you feel guilty for being angry at her too, especially if she knew about you. You’re allowed to hold BOTH people accountable for the hurt they caused you. If you’re struggling to heal from betrayal, comment HEAL and I’ll send you my free training to help you stop comparing yourself, rebuild your confidence, and start finding yourself again. #sidechick #affair #cheater #greenscreenvideo
