That afternoon, Kan, Elena and I went to Izumi to say hi to @flotsambooks, but before and after that, we hung out in front of a kiosk/wine shop where you could smoke outside. That neighborhood is packed with places connected to Okinawan culture. We had yet another beer and shared some tobacco. I asked Kan if he’d liked Perfect Days; he said no, and when I asked, “Why not?” he cut me off with a curt, “Because it’s not true.”
