DANCE BUT DONT FORGET (2025)
Hybrid Film (art and documentary) and immersive audio-visual artinstallation by UK-based multimedia artist (( M )) at Kunsthal Charlottenborg, curated by Sara Dogan Bjerre (@worldartconnections__ )
The 2-part exhibition was featured on the second floor of the museum and directly on the main dancefloor.
The immersive installation is a tribute to Hakken, a high-speed dance style, rooted in early ‘90s club culture, that gave life to the Gabber genre within hardcore electronic music in East Europe after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
‘ Dance But Don’t Forget’ is a reminder that electronic music and underground cultures are always intertwined with historical ruptures and conflicts, while carrying the possibility of creating something new from what came before.
