So thrilled to win the main prize in the Portrait category with my photo of Alison Spittle at the British Photography Awards! I was so chuffed to see my photo up there alongside the work of actual professional photographers whose work I’ve admired for years. A HUGE thank you to Alison for trusting me with her vision. Her homemade dress made of shower loofahs was genius! A MASSIVE thank you to the judges of the BPAs who I still can’t believe picked my photo out of all the amazing work in the category. The night wouldn’t have been half as fun if @hollyrnewman wasn’t there with me, so a BIG thank you to my mum for babysitting and allowing us our first proper night out since we became parents! #bpa #britishphotographyawards The winning photo in question! Shot at my home away from home @hotdog_studios This is my other photo that was in the running last night. A photo of one of my absolute faves, @fatiha.elghorri A few weeks ago I asked/ begged my mates to vote for it for the People’s Choice prize but unfortunately it didn’t win. Thank you to everyone who voted anyway, I really appreciate it! And the biggest thank you to my wife/ bestie/ queen @hollyrnewman What a woman to have in your corner! The most supportive, loving wife and mum!

It’s hard for me to find the words and I find it very difficult to assimilate anything that has happened”. β€œI feel enormous pain for the loss of Jesus. I think of him, his family and all the people who loved him. I know that there will be many issues to address, I will face whatever comes with all due respect.” β€œBut right now, honestly, I can’t think of anything other than Jesus and the pain we are experiencing”. β€œRest in peace, Jesus.”
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has declared that the state government will persist with its eviction campaign until β€œevery inch” of land is recovered. The statement came in response to a foreign media report highlighting the demolition of hundreds of illegal homes in Dhubri district, which displaced approximately 4,000 people.
