The latest in our Darkland Tales series of historical retellings, This Door of the Seas is the first literary collaboration between bestselling crime writer @quineofcrime and her partner @profjosharp, Scotland’s Geographer Royal. This epistolary novel traces the story of Scotland’s only trading colony at the end of the seventeenth century, which turned from a dream of prosperity to a nightmare that bankrupted an already impoverished nation.
