The last two weeks have been some of the hardest of my treatment so far. One serious infection after another, reactions at their worst, newer complications every day, and pain so dreadful that there were days I screamed. Some mornings, I woke up to problems I had never even heard of before. Umma and Vappa have been here, witnessing some of my worst days, and I know how difficult it has been for them, too. I have always wanted them to know that it is okay to feel sad, to take time to process things, but not to stay in that sadness. I don’t want them to see this diagnosis as something that has taken my life away, but as something that, in its own difficult ways, has given me newer perspectives on life. We have no control over everything that happens to us, but that doesn’t mean life ends there. Sometimes, we just have to find new meanings and new joys with whatever we have. Last night, I asked Fawaz to bring Umma and Vappa to the hospital, with their dinner packed, so we could eat together, talk for a while and take my little walk around the hospital. And for a little while, life felt normal again. It reminded me that there is still a life beyond this diagnosis, beyond these hospital walls, beyond the infections, the tests and the treatment. Sometimes, it takes a conscious effort to find those little moments, but they remind me of everything I am still living for. I also want to consciously leave this here on my profile, as a little reminder of how I have been looked after, the people who have stood beside me, and the little moments that have meant so much through all of this. Even in the hardest chapters, there is so much love worth remembering. I know this is going to be the most dreadful fight of my life. But somewhere along the way, I have found a confidence in myself that I never knew existed, and a hope that has stayed with me even on my darkest days. I don’t know what the road ahead looks like, but I know I want to see where it takes me. This fight might be one of the hardest things I will ever face, but it has no idea how ready I am to live the life waiting for me on the other side. ❤️✨

Can’t believe it’s been 8 years since the conversion journey. I was colouring my hair every 2-3 weeks to keep up, finally ,the big chop followed by bleaching to a blonde shade and until the conveted silver crown 👑👸🏾 I couldn’t be happier. #silvercrown #silverjourney #greyyay

Shared by a follower : it usually happens at night, around 10:40pm. it has happened quite a number of times already, and i suspect they’re probably just secondary school students. #sgfollowsall [Singapore News, Singapore Viral, Singapore Updates, Singapore Community, Singapore Trends]
as someone who’s husband has been on the front lines of this very real battle this world is facing, I can say this: in a world that thinks human trafficking looks like the movie “Taken”, it’s anything but that. predators are sly. they know how to groom, what to say, and how to get their foot in the door. sometimes you’ll see the warning signs clear as day, other times you’d never know it unless you knew what to look for. as sick as it makes me to say, this Disney sting operation is unfortunately an example of just that. if this news story or post makes you uncomfortable, good — it should. don’t just be outraged by this headline and then do nothing with those emotions. learn the warning signs… report things that make your discernment go off, even if it ends up being nothing. support organizations on the front lines who are doing the work to expose this evil. because “awareness without action” is just another headline we’ll forget by next week. too many people have become numb to seeing new stories like this, and just keep scrolling. Jesus, this world desperately needs You. #christian
