This summer two of the hardest working community organizations (@crownsincorporated x @lifereign_ )partnered with collectives, brand builders and entrepreneurs citywide to bring SYEP a program quite like nothing else the DMV has seen before. Combining Restorative Healing and Wellness, Professional Development, Financial Literacy, Community Engagement, Social Justice and Multimedia to help young adults gain tools to support their transition into the future world and workforce. Over 25 youth participated and stayed down for 6 weeks to learn and serve their hometown. The future isn’t later. The future is now. Grateful for their trust and hopeful to see what these kids do with the knowledge. Show em luv when you see them 💎💯

My most popular recipes from 2026 👉🏼Creamy Red Pepper & Chickpea Soup with Honey Feta Cottage Cheese Toastie This soup feels life changing, not to be dramatic. Rich, creamy roasted red pepper and chickpea soup with a golden, crispy honey feta cottage cheese toastie for dunking. The perfect comforting lunch. Serves 4 Approx 400 kcal & 30g protein 1 jar roasted red peppers (approx. 450g), drained 1 red onion, roughly chopped A handful of cherry tomatoes 1 generous tsp harissa paste 1 tin chickpeas, drained and rinsed 250g passata 1 chicken stock cube About 600ml boiling water 100g (2 heaped tbsp) cottage cheese 2 heaped tbsp cottage cheese 20g feta, crumbled 1 tsp honey A small squeeze of fresh lemon juice A little lemon zest Fresh parsley, finely chopped Garlic granules 2 slices of sourdough bread or any bread you like Method Heat a little oil in a large saucepan over a medium heat. Add the red onion, cherry tomatoes and harissa paste with a pinch of salt and sauté for 3–4 minutes until fragrant. Add the roasted red peppers, chickpeas, passata, stock cube and boiling water. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 10–15 minutes, allowing the flavours to develop. In a small bowl, mix together the cottage cheese, feta, a drizzle of honey, lemon juice, lemon zest, parsley and a pinch of garlic granules. Spread the mixture over slices of bread, sandwich together, cut in half and toast in a pan or air fryer until golden and crisp. Remove the soup from the heat and let cool slightly, blend until smooth, then add the cottage cheese and blend until silky. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Add more stock if it’s too thick. Serve the soup hot with the toastie on the side. #healthyrecipes #healthyfood #comfortfood

My Best Friend, My Brother. — These are just some of many pictures over the years. Celebrating a rare soul, a lifelong friendship, and his musical legacy that changed the world. I met Juan Atkins in 1982. Every time we ran into one another, he would ask me if I worked at a grocery store, beyond convinced he’d seen me there. To which I would always tell him, no man, everybody just look like me. That went on for about a year, until he finally stopped asking me and became curious about who I actually was. Looking back, it’s funny how something so simple led to one of the most meaningful friendships of my life. Our friendship was about so much more than just making music. He would come pick me up, just to hang out. Whether that was to go to parties or to simply play our music at Belle Isle. We traveled to New York and Miami for music conferences. We laughed together. We even cut each other’s hair. As time went on, I got to know the people closest to him. His grandmother, whom he idolized, his brothers, his sister, and his mother. They became like family to me, and my family became his. We were in our early 20s, navigating a new frontier with no blueprint. Those were some of the best times of my life: yes, we were having fun, but the friendship we were building was invaluable. I knew our friendship had reached another level when Juan started sharing his music with me and asking for my opinion. I felt honored. He trusted my ears, and I trusted his. We grew even closer, impassioned by our mutual love for music, learning, and creating. Eventually, it became simple: if you saw Juan, you saw Eddie. If you saw Eddie, you saw Juan. In 1985, he helped me put together my first studio, teaching me how to create my own music, how to manipulate sound through synthesizers and MIDIs. And by 1986, he released my first record, “Goodbye Kiss,” under his label, Metroplex. The international media may know the records and the parties, but they don’t know the everyday moments that made us brothers. And I like it that way. Some things belong only to the people who lived them. He wasn’t just my friend. He was my brother. And I am my brother’s keeper. Rest in Power, Juan 🖤
Some gestures make a campaign journey even more special. My wife Tejeswini, surprised us by joining the campaign and extending her support to Visakhapatnam’s NDA Mayor candidate Dr. Mukka Sravani Garu, Truly appreciate her encouragement and solidarity. #Visakhapatnam #GVMC #LocalBodyElections #MukkaSravani .
