Thank me later! I promise. I’m turning 60 next month, and I keep thinking about the woman I was at 50. There was so much she couldn’t have known. The loss she would learn to live with. The friendships, the work, the places she would see. The joy she would feel again. I wish I could tell her: you don’t have to have the next ten years figured out. Just leave room for things to surprise you. Today I’m in Paris with my daughter, doing work I love, still discovering what I’m capable of. Still curious. Still becoming. What would you tell the woman you were ten years ago? ♥️
Super Mario Bros. speedrunner Niftski has broken his own world record while dressed as Mario for a Halloween livestream, completing the classic 1985 Nintendo game in just 4 minutes and 54.299 seconds. The performance shaved 33 milliseconds off his previous record and brought him within just two frames of the theoretically perfect time of 4:54.265. After years of pushing the limits of the game, Niftski is now closer than ever to achieving what many speedrunners once considered nearly impossible. And somehow, he managed to do it while wearing the iconic red hat and moustache of the character himself.
