Oskár Čepan Award

We’d like to introduce the curator of the 2026 Oskar Čepan Award ⋆. 𐙚˚࿔ Doris Sisková 𝜗𝜚˚⋆ @rissiskv ! We reached out to Doris not only because of her broad theoretical scope of knowledge, but also because of the enthusiasm with which she tackles curatorial projects!

Doris Sisková is a curator and cultural professional based in Bratislava. Since June 2025 she is working as a programme manager at the Bratislava City Museum. She is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava (Studio Space) and the Design Academy Eindhoven (The Critical Inquiry Lab). During her studies, she focused on interdisciplinary research at the intersection of design, philosophy, and social criticism. In her practice, she explores themes such as the medicalization of emotions, digital identity, tactical passivity, and the relationship between the human body and ecosystems in the era of the permacrisis.

In 2024, she was nominated for the Gijs Bakker Award for her project *New Weird Hope*. She has presented her work at (selection): Dutch Design Week, the International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam, the Melted Film Festival, Fest Anča, Kunsthalle Bratislava, and the VUNU Gallery. She is the author and curator of exhibitions such as: 2026 *Erotics of Extinction*, SKC, Bratislava; 2026 *Swarming Tongues*, FaVU Gallery, Brno; and 2025 *DOE vs. Siren: On Metabolization & Shapeshifting*, Medium Gallery, Bratislava.

The photo shoot, creatively directed by Evelyn Bencicová, features portraits of the curator and the laureates from less traditional angles, which nevertheless reveal more of the behind-the-scenes aspects of their artistic practice, as well as their self-expression through specific gestures and attributes.
