Introducing Trisha Rath as our General Secretary for 2026-27!

Dear reader, Trisha will never tell you this herself, so allow me. If you look past the downplaying and the humility, you will see that Trisha is as fiercely intelligent and sharp, if not more so, than the best of the best. She possesses the ability to create the most persuasive arguments which you’ll find yourself scrambling to rebut. I wouldn’t blame you, either. After all, how could you mitigate an argument that’s fully-mechanised, has a coherent logical chain, and a well-proven impact? You will also find her to be effortlessly witty and incredibly funny, only until she starts sending you reels from her algorithm (which, for your sake, dear reader, I hope she does).
Trisha also insists on life and hope, and possesses the most out-of-this-world compassion and care for people. Not just for the ones closest to her who run to her for advice (she’s very good at that, trust me), but even for the junior who’s confused, or the batchmate who needs help. All with the same depth of compassion – a hallmark of intrinsic goodness of heart. This trait of hers also extends into her debating in two ways. Firstly, although she can hunt your arguments down like a hawk, she will also gladly sit with you and help you rebuild them, creatively and logically. Her feedback and thoughts are therefore incredibly invaluable. Secondly, this compassionate nature lends legitimacy and persuasiveness to every constructive she runs. She approaches constructives through a humane lens because, internally, she deeply cares about the stakeholders she characterises – from the marginalised, to the poor, to the oppressed. This means, in a circuit that tends to view the trauma of these groups simply as tools to win the next round, Trisha stands out as a breath of fresh air. Because she truly lives the words she says.
