Chester Bennington, you saved millions, but couldn’t save yourself.
It was 2012. I found this song called “Numb” on my mother’s office laptop. I was 14 and broken. Everyone was making me feel like my life was over because of a bad result that no one else remembers now.
The internet was not within my reach at that time. I would ask friends and teachers to share Linkin Park songs with me. I would write the lyrics in my diary just by listening.
After that, in every darkest moment, during different phases of my life, it was my earphones, the loudest volume, and Linkin Park songs.
Chester’s scream became the hidden screams inside me. I would resonate with each and every word of the lyrics and cry like crazy in silence. After listening every time, I would feel magically light in my head.
Yesterday, 20th July, 9 years back, was the day when Chester gave up on life. But he still lives through his voice, his screams, inside millions of hearts. ❤️
