Ride the cyclone 🎢

⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 (sorry again I know this is another cult classic but I thought it was just ok…)

Plot: 5 students died on a roller coaster. They were in the afterlife and they took turns to pitch to a fortune teller (who acted like a judge) on why they should get their life back, but only one person can go back.

The show began with a headless girl pushing a stroller which really set the eerie mood. The headless girl, named Jane Doe, was found under the roller coaster but no one was able to identify her, so she cannot recall her life story as she ‘lost’ her identity. In the end, they voted for Jane doe to go back as she hasn’t ‘lived’.

For me, the moral of the story is that it doesn’t matter how long / short one’s life is, the teenagers can still have lived a meaningful life even though they die young (albeit it being very sad ofc). You just have to make the most out of your life!

One thing I learnt about myself from this show is that I prefer shows with a big ensemble. This is probs bc of my orchestra/ choir upbringing, I prefer complex scores with lots of layers😅 this probably also explains why I couldn’t enjoy mincemeat despite its popularity.

mincemeat comment is valid i felt the same way. i need to be driven to the edge of tears (or to tears) when i hear the ensemble sing like the first west end show i watched when i first moved to London and i watched Joseph and started hearing the ensemble singing i wanted to cry because it was so beautiful how all the voices came together
