These pictures almost never happened.

A few years ago, I almost convinced myself not to do any of this.

The idea of coaching flag football players didn’t start with me.

It started 10,000 feet in the air during a conversation with my coach. He looked at me and said, “You should start doing clinics for kids.”

My first thought wasn’t, “That would be awesome.”

It was…

“Why would anyone want to learn from me?”

I started imagining everything that could go wrong.

“What if nobody signs up?”
“What if people think I’m not qualified?”
“What if I fail?”

Before I ever gave myself a chance, I had already convinced myself of all the reasons it wouldn’t work.

Thankfully, someone believed in me before I believed in myself.

To the coach who saw something in me before I could see it in myself… thank you @coachdanerobinson

Fast forward to today.

Over the weekend, I had the opportunity to lead almost 90 incredible athletes at one of our clinics.

As I looked around, I couldn’t help but think…

None of this would’ve happened if one person hadn’t encouraged me to take a chance on myself.

And none of it would’ve happened if I had listened to the voice telling me not to try.

It’s funny how our minds create obstacles that don’t even exist yet. We convince ourselves that people will judge us, laugh at us, or think we’re not good enough… when most of those fears never become reality.

Don’t let imagined opinions stop you from pursuing something that’s real.

If there’s something you’ve been thinking about starting—a business, a new career, coaching, playing flag, or chasing a dream—you don’t have to know it’ll work.

You just have to be willing to take the first step.

Because the opportunity you’re afraid to pursue today…

…might be the thing that changes your life tomorrow.
