Meet Ladybird!
This 9 mo. old doberman is now available through Border Tails Rescue for adoption!
Ladybird is the absolute sweetest, goofiest, special girl you will ever have the joy of meeting. Ladybird was born with a neurodegenerative disease that causes a plethora of symptoms. She walks like she's swimming underwater (but in the cutest most surprisingly agile kind of way). She has a hard time with stairs, and sometimes will stumble on her long limbs. Her zoomies are truly a sight to see! Being that she is still a puppy, she is still learning potty training very well, and is crate trained with an elevated bed. She is great with other dogs, and enjoys going to daycare once a week. She enjoys chasing cats but will not actively pursue or harass them. With all of these unique symptoms, we are unsure of how much better they will get with time.
But despite all of this, she is such a fighter and wakes up every day looking for all life has to offer. She loves nothing more than snuggling with her foster mom, playing with her foster sister, and enjoying a slow but exciting walk around the block with her foster dad. She loves to travel and sleeps effortlessly the whole way. She's a fantastic eater, is gaining weight every day, and is incredibly smart with all the training we have given her.
Due to her condition, she is looking for a very specific forever home that can provide everything she needs to live the fullest and healthiest life she can.
She preferably needs:
✨️A parent that works from home or a flexible schedule that can give her plenty of attention and keeps crate time low
✨️If no other animals in the home, she needs a consistent outlet to meet/play/hang out with other dogs like daycare or the park. Preferably no more than one other dog in the home.
✨️A fenced in yard to be able to run and play and go potty on her own time
✨️Carpeted or heavily rugged home. Because her feet are slightly deformed, she has a considerably harder time on hardwood floors
✨️Extra large crate with elevated chew proof bed
✨️A family who loves to cuddle, play, and most importantly has patience. She will put in the work and meet you halfway, but patience is key.
