Nose work stuff can be super technical, but this video shows how easy you can make it.

Don't over think it, but keep in mind that before your dog can isolate a scent, they first learn that the odor means something.

So place a scent (e.g., birch or clove) inside a metal tin or small glass jar with holes.

And like the video - When the dog investigates and targets the tin with their nose, immediately mark with a verbal marker (like "YES!") and deliver the reward.

I made mistakes in this video BTW, but figure at the end of the day - for most dog owners its a good idea to just have a bit of fun.

You’d never be allowed in my kitchen if that’s how you use a knife 😂

We play hide and seek with his toys. Never went through all these steps 🤷‍♀️. Just put him in a down and stay and went and hide his toys out of sight but still easy to find. Have gradually made it more difficult to find. He's definitely sniffing it out. He loved it from the first game. He's a border Collie Cross.
