If you like Brian’s music with @theeasybutton “Brian Jones and His Elevator Music return with Outlandish Stances, a 12-track collection that finds Brian walking the tightrope thematically and emotionally; suspended between the sunlit and the shadowed sides of life. It also features some of the most ambitious songwriting of Brian’s considerable catalog while never straying too far from his tried-and-true power pop formula. The album makes no apologies for the tension it lives in - tracks like “Flowers,” and “New Adventures,” radiate genuine warmth and hard-won gratitude, while “She’s Gonna Be Alone” and “Tony the Hurricane” stare down doubt and loss without flinching. This is a record that understands those two modes aren’t opposites so much as roommates. What makes Outlandish Stances work is that Brian has never seemed particularly interested in resolving the contradiction. The “Jekyll” and the “Hyde” are both present, both valid, both given equal real estate across these songs — and that honesty is exactly what makes the album feel lived-in rather than performed.”
