WHIPLASH (2014) — Directed by Damien Chazelle, starring Miles Teller, J.K. Simmons, Paul Reiser, and Melissa Benoist. The film follows Andrew Neiman, an ambitious young jazz drummer studying at one of the most prestigious music conservatories in the country. Determined to become one of the greatest musicians of his generation, Andrew pushes himself beyond his limits in pursuit of perfection. His life takes a dramatic turn when he catches the attention of Terence Fletcher, an intimidating and brutally demanding music instructor known for his unconventional teaching methods. What begins as an opportunity to prove his talent soon becomes an intense psychological battle between a student desperate for greatness and a teacher obsessed with pushing people beyond their breaking point. As Andrew sacrifices his relationships, health, and peace of mind, the line between discipline and abuse, ambition and obsession, begins to disappear. Driven by extraordinary performances, relentless editing, and an electrifying jazz score, Whiplash transforms the pursuit of perfection into a nerve-racking psychological experience. A brutal exploration of ambition, obsession, sacrifice, and the terrifying price of greatness. TAGS: Whiplash, Whiplash 2014, Damien Chazelle, Miles Teller, J.K.
