This one was special. The peace that has came with this camp is insurmountable. Going into this camp there was so much hurt, anger, confusing and the sense of helplessness and loss. The past few months of my life have been the hardest and most painful experiences i have ever been through. From my mental health being lost, to losing someone that mattered more than words can describe really took a toll on me. I knew going into this camp that i needed to be as open and transparent as possible. Seeing friends and even people i don’t know get emotional and seeing the power of God working through them, got to me. Night three was one of if not the most special nights of camp. The analogy that the speaker used of being dead and needing to get out of the coffin really hit me. Not only in the fact that I was dead and not living but surviving. Seeing a coffin brought all of the grief to show, but in all of the chaos. God silenced and put me back together. The amount of gratitude I have for God and this camp is beyond words. Forever grateful for the leaders, friends, and support that Eastside and CIY gave me. Until next year 💜
