BREAKING: A New York appeals court clears the way for NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s “millionaire mansion tax” on second homes worth $5 million or more. The decision overturns a lower-court ruling that would have forced the city to redo the rollout, handing Mamdani a legal victory as he pushes wealthy homeowners to pay more. The homeowners’ challenge was dismissed over a lack of standing, but other legal challenges to the tax remain pending. Download the Fox News app or go to Foxnews.com for more.
24 Police Officers Attached to Presidential Villa Appeal to pres. Tinubu Over Nine Months Unpaid Allowances Twenty-four personnel of the Police Mobile Force (PMF) attached to the Press Escorts Unit at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, have appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene over the alleged non-payment of their allowances for nine consecutive months. According to Sahara Reporters, the aggrieved officers made the appeal in a petition addressed to President Tinubu, lamenting that they had been denied their allowances despite performing the same duties as colleagues who reportedly receive theirs. The officers said the situation had placed them under serious financial pressure, leaving them struggling to cater for their families, pay house rent and cover transportation costs to work. In their petition, they stated: “We are here to write on behalf of some 24 PMF personnel, Press Escorts Villa, Abuja. We have not received allowance for the past nine months, which some of our colleagues are collecting, and we did the same work.” Speaking about the hardship caused by the alleged non-payment, they added: “We have families, relatives and children to take care of, but no allowance for a period of nine months. We are suffering, paying transportation to work and paying for house rent, which we depend on the allowance to do.” The personnel further appealed to the Federal Government to look into their complaint and settle the outstanding payments without further delay. Concluding their appeal, they said: “We are pleading with the government to consider our complaint and pay us our outstanding nine months’ allowance.”
i think some people are just meant to find each other. ❤️ in this first slide, before we ever met, julia was watching dancing with the stars. she showed me this video to prove she’d been a fan for years, but what made it so special was that she unknowingly captured my very first appearance on the show. just two counts of eight, and somehow she caught the very beginning of my journey. little did we know that years later, she’d become my partner, my best friend, and one of the most important people in my life. sometimes people are part of our story long before we even know it. julia, i wish you could see yourself through my eyes. i wish you could see how much you’ve grown, how brave you’ve been, and how much you’ve accomplished. even on the hardest days, you kept showing up, kept fighting, and kept giving your whole heart. somewhere between the rehearsals, the laughter, and the tears, you became so much more than my dance partner. i came into this season hoping to teach you how to dance, but you ended up teaching me so much more about life, love, and friendship. my favorite part of this entire experience wasn’t a dance or a score. it was getting to know you and getting to call you my friend. the hardest part about saying goodbye is knowing we’ll never get to experience these moments for the first time again. but if i could go back, knowing every high, every low, and every tear we’d shed, i’d do it a thousand times over. i don’t know what i did to deserve a friendship like yours, but i’ll spend the rest of my life being grateful for it. i love you, julia. always. and if fate ever lets me find you in another lifetime, i hope i get to be your dance partner there too. ❤️
