I just finished reading *Under the Bakul Tree*, and honestly, I'm sitting here completely wrecked—in the best way possible.

It starts with Ashim having to drop out because of crippling poverty, and my heart just broke for him. But seeing his friend Nirmal refuse to give up on him? That bond is everything. Irrespective of their ages of both Ashim and Nirmal, they are so matured even more than most of the adults.

What really hit me, though, was the contrast in the teachers: Mahendra Sir's Growth; Watching him go from this rigid, grade-obsessed strict teacher to someone who actually gets what his students are going through... what a character arc.

And Anubhav Sir is the kind of mentor everyone deserves—he doesn't just teach lessons; he steps in as a complete lifeline when life gets cruel.

Also the character developments of both Mahendra Sir's and Ashim's father - so touching amd relatable.

It’s a emotional rollercoaster about lost dreams, pure friendship, and the kind of empathy that actually changes lives. If you haven't picked this up yet, do yourself a favor and read it.
