3 months agoThe place I started making my crafts. My true story. Becoming a craftsman. It all started at a young age as a school boy, At my primary level that's when I got an idea of carving. At school I use to use blade to make some gorgeous design like a head of a girrafe on my pencil and human necklace. My friends use to buy it. On Saturday which is a holiday, l use to go out and search for waste wood by the carpenters and use it to carve. Back then l did not have a single tool but l rather go out to dump people waste materials and object and sell things on streets to get money to buy tools to make real sculptures like elephants. My parent did not agree about my thought and what l decide to become, but rather they said if l complete my second level of education they will allow me to learn things about carpentry because they think a spirit can summon the sculptures 😊 I went to learn the carpentry side for 3and half years and l became a good carpenter. After that I decide to fulfill my dream as a crafts man. I went out to those who does carving as their work to live and shared it with them, they agreed and allow me to learn. During that time I had no where to sleep so I slept on a bench for 9 good years on the streets to become a good Carver. People found sympathy on me and they allow me to stay with them to learn how to carve. That's when I learnt how to make drums, kora instrument, Woodturning crafts and etc..... I decide to coperate with different companies and foreigners at the Ghana art centre. I also travelled outside of Ghana to different African countries like Togo 🇹🇬 Benin 🇧🇯 to make business with them with my crafts work. Now I have fulfill my dream and now become who I am.
