Assam is not asking for sympathy. Assam is asking not to be forgotten. 🇮🇳 The Assam flood is not just a natural disaster. It is also a warning about the consequences of human actions. Why am I saying this? Because science tells us that while heavy monsoon rainfall is natural, the severity of flooding can become much worse due to unplanned deforestation, destruction of wetlands, encroachment on floodplains, poor urban planning, and weak flood-management systems. Today, places that rarely witnessed such devastating floods are drowning. Families have lost everything. Children have lost their homes. Farmers have lost their livelihoods. Countless innocent animals have also suffered. As of today, the Assam floods have claimed 82 precious lives, and around 1.78 lakh people continue to suffer. Behind every number is a family waiting for hope. The saddest part is that many flood-hit areas are still waiting to be fully reached and recovered. We still don't know the full extent of the damage, and that is truly heartbreaking. Who is suffering? Not the powerful. It is the ordinary people, the farmers, labourers, children, the elderly, and the voiceless animals. If this tragedy had happened in Delhi or another major metropolitan city, would the nation still be this silent? I'm not asking you to ignore other issues. I'm simply asking India not to ignore Assam. We have already seen the power of Gen Z. When young people unite, the nation listens. If we can make any issue trend, then we can also make #PrayForAssam reach every corner of India. One share, one story, one reel, one post can become someone's voice. This is not about Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, or Christian. Floodwater doesn't ask anyone's religion before entering a home. Humanity must come first. The long-term solution is education, scientific planning, environmental conservation, protection of forests and wetlands, responsible urban development, and accountable governance. Floods cannot always be prevented, but the scale of destruction can be reduced. Assam is India. Assam deserves to be seen. Assam deserves to be heard. 🇮🇳 #PrayForAssam #StandWithAssam #AssamFloods #SaveAssam #IndiaForAssam
