dear softball,

this is truly the hardest goodbye i could ever make. you have been a part of my life for longer than i can remember. since the day i began you have taught me how to be humble, competitive, hardworking, how to fight through failure, be strong, + so much more. i became a person i never knew i could + became a part of something bigger than myself. you brought me opportunities that i never imagined i would achieve. the places i went + the people i met through you are some of the greatest gifts of my life. every girl i ever played with + every coach i ever played for all were a puzzle piece to my success. you quickly became my life + i couldn’t see my worth outside of you + it vastly took a toll on my life, body, + mental health. letting go of you feels like letting go of a piece of me + it breaks my heart. i believe God brought this sport into my life to show me everything i’m truly capable of + how to become a better person. i love you softball + nothing could ever compare to you.
