Meet 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐨 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐨, one of the authors selected by the MEDUSA Transnational Observatory.

His play 𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨 (Sex) explores identity, gender and the power of language through a sharp, ironic and fragmented dramaturgical structure.

The title itself becomes a point of tension: to be “sexed” means to be named, classified and placed within a system of expectations before any real possibility of self-definition.

Moving between paradox, contemporary references, fiction, report, vaudeville and visual fragments, Sesso questions the categories through which society tries to define bodies and identities.

Through irony and theatrical experimentation, Alessandro Paschitto opens a space where gender, prejudice and social norms can be observed, challenged and unsettled.

Selected during the MEDUSA Retreat in Domicella, 𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨 will be translated and presented as part of the project’s upcoming mini-festivals across Europe.
