Amazing morning! After my Mother passed 35 years ago, her friends at the City of Las Vegas dedicated an oak tree and a memorial stone at Jaycee Park. My mom often walked there on her lunch breaks. Sometimes she took my buddy Billy Masciocchi & I there and we’d skate around on our boards or throw the baseball. She was a meter maid & finished her years at the city as the Supervisor of Parking Enforcement. A few years back, I took my daughter there to see the park, the tree and her dedication but the stone was gone. I bitched and moaned about it for several years till my friend @sin_city_raptor told me how and who to contact in hopes to correct this situation. That very same weekend I went away for a fishing trip and got to talking to another friend @mccreedyclan702 and he said he’d have someone contact me. Weeks went by, my phone rings, I answer and a Rich Hall from the City of Las Vegas Parks and Recs says to me “you looking for your mother’s dedication stone”… 🤯 ! He then said “meet me at 9am Monday”. I met him and his crew of good dudes this morning. The stone is back with the tree. Things are good.
