Julián the Movie

Step into the world of Julián 🎨🖌️

Art Director @emiliemush demonstrates the technique we used to recreate Brooklyn on screen, as seen through Julián's eyes! This time we are looking at Fran's Deli.

A hand-crafted approach was key to the art direction, with each background rendered on paper with colouring pencils and markers, creating a world that is tactile, vibrant, and rich in detail.

“It was important to let the artist’s hand be present in the film” says Director @louise_bagnall, “It’s a story crafted by many dedicated hands, real people who poured their love, care and attention into it."
