Lafette Fryerson

My acting journey started in the 8th grade under the direction of Master Ken Ferguson, performing at Cleveland State University. That moment changed my life.

While serving time at Marion Correctional Institution, I found purpose through acting. I earned multiple roles, played several characters, and in 2013 wrote my own play, On The Inside Looking Good, where I portrayed three different characters.

My passion caught the attention of my mentor and friend @piperkerman, creator of @oitnb, and I’ve continued building my career ever since.

From appearing in Superman and Judas and the Black Messiah to landing leading roles on @tubi, @primevideo, and YouTube, I’ve learned one thing…

I don’t just act—I turn up on screen because I truly love the craft. This is only the beginning. 🎬🔥
