BREAKING NEWS: A landmark victory for Italian citizenship applicants. 🇮🇹

The Italian Supreme Court has definitively struck down the controversial “Minor Rule,” removing a major barrier for descendants of Italian emigrants worldwide.

In a historic decision, Italy’s highest court ruled that the restrictive “Minor Rule” does not apply to descendants who acquired foreign citizenship by birthright.

For years, many applicants were told their Jure Sanguinis (citizenship by descent) bloodline was “severed” simply because their Italian parent naturalized while they were still a minor.

The Court has now set the record straight: A minor child born abroad who acquired foreign citizenship by birthright (jure soli) never lost their Italian citizenship.

If you previously thought you didn’t qualify, or if your application was rejected or put on hold because of this specific rule, the landscape has completely changed. Your rights remain intact.
