Universal Music Publishing UK

We’re excited to welcome Morgan Harper-Jones as the first signing to Nothing Standard Publishing, launched in partnership with Universal Music Publishing Group, alongside Nothing Standard Recordings with distribution via Virgin Music Group

“These new ventures allow us to bring that same philosophy to music we’re developing ourselves, working alongside artists and songwriters from the earliest stages of the creative process.” — Nothing Standard founder and MD Tristan Wilson

New signing Morgan recently attended SCREENWRK in Deià, the sync writing retreat created by UMPG, Nothing Standard and Magic Mountain Music. There, she teamed up with Ant Vander-West and Jake Tench to write “Little Bird,” which is set for release this winter ✍️🤍

“The three of us had spent our morning writing a very different song and just before we broke for lunch Ant started playing the chords on the guitar and I was humming along to it and Jake was still tweaking the mix on the first song and he stopped and said “are you voice-noting this? All three of us felt like maybe we should hold off on lunch and see where this idea leads. The ‘Little Bird’ concept just came out of nowhere... the whole song just fell out in an hour or so, as if it was already written for us. It’s the best feeling ever when that happens... it feels like such a magical calming song. I’m excited to release it!” — Morgan Harper-Jones
