Devastating news this morning learning of the tragic passing of one of my all-time favorites and inspirations. Rest in peace @glenhansard
This video was from a performance at the Salt Shed in 2023 where he goes completely acoustic and un-mic’d for one of his more emotional songs from the days of the Frames. You could hear a pin drop.
During that show, Glen was sharing how exciting it was to have recently become a father and how that was reshaping his life.
His live solo concert at the Dublin Library in the thick of lockdown is something to watch on YouTube as well as his many impromptu tavern and pub performances and busking in the streets around Christmas.
My sincere condolences to his family, friends, and the countless musicians he touched.
