The last two years have been some of the best years of my life.

When Brett and I packed up everything and moved to Northern California, I was so excited, but also nervous. I hoped saying yes to something so scary would lead me back to a version of myself I’d been missing for a while. And it did.

Somewhere between the mountains, the lakes, and all of our adventures, I found her again. The girl who feels most alive and at peace outside.

Leaving is bittersweet. But if this chapter has taught me anything, it’s that sometimes the things you’re most afraid of lead to the most beautiful chapters. I’ll never regret trying something new…I’ll only regret the chances I was too afraid to take.

So thank you, NorCal, for giving Brett and I memories we’ll carry with us forever. Thank you for bringing me back to myself, for making me genuinely excited about life again, and for reminding me that choosing the life you truly want is almost always worth the risk.

This isn’t goodbye forever. I know we’ll find our way back someday, even if it’s only for a visit.
