A farewell to Glen Hansard.
The news of Glen Hansard’s passing in a tragic accident is a heavy blow to take.
An artist with an immense heart and a voice that made the soul tremble with beauty and wonder, who strongly inspired my being a singer.
A true singer and bard.
I had the honor of meeting him on an unforgettable night.
I must have been about 22 years old and it was my birthday. I went to the St. Paul’s Within the Walls Church without a ticket. It was completely sold out, but with a trick worthy of my best moments, I managed to get in with the help of a staff member who gave me that very 'birthday gift'.
There, I witnessed one of the most emotional concerts of my life.
After the show, I spoke with him and asked him to sign my shirt. He told me it would be a shame to ruin it, so we took a photo, which remains engraved in my fondest memories.
It is a great sorrow..
He will be an artist to keep listening to and remembering.
His Art and his Spirit will remain for a long time.
Falling Slowly into your memory, Glen.
🕊️✨
Falling Slowly into your memory, Glen.
