FLAMEXRAGER

It's been 2922 days (8 years) since Travis Scott released Astroworld, the album which genuinely saved my life and helped to shape the person I am today. 🔥 So today is Astroworld Appreciation Day for me, thank you to Travis Scott for blessing us with this masterpiece 8 years ago.

Travis Scott’s Astroworld, released August 3, 2018, marked its eighth anniversary on August 3, 2026, today. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 349.43 million first-week streams—the fifth-largest streaming week ever at the time. All 17 tracks entered the Billboard Hot 100 simultaneously. It later became the first male hip-hop album with every song certified platinum or higher by the RIAA and reached six-times platinum overall. Nominated for Best Rap Album at the 61st Grammys, it drew major buzz from its immersive theme-park concept inspired by Houston’s defunct Six Flags AstroWorld, elaborate visual rollout, and high-profile guest features including Drake, Frank Ocean, The Weeknd, Kid Cudi, and Juice WRLD. Standout tracks include “SICKO MODE” (Scott’s first Hot 100 No. 1, featuring Drake’s mid-verse beat switch which had everyone amazed on the first listen), “Stargazing (with an epic beat switch too, the first song of the album)” “Carousel(with Frank Ocean feature)” and “Astrothunder(my favourite Travis Scott song of all time)”. Astroworld was the album The introduced us to the rap sensation "Don Toliver", on the song Can't Say. In recent 2026 interviews, including with Variety, Scott confirmed he is actively working on a new solo album, describing it as sonically ambitious and pushing beyond previous work following "Utopia" and "Jackboys 2".
