she's a brick and i'm drowning slowly - for mixed chamber ensemble

this is the final section of a piece I wrote in spring, inspired by the Ben Folds Five song 'Brick'. I tried to create a sense of melancholy and intimacy, something that felt both beautiful but also tragic.
