NYC 26.2 miles. My third marathon of 2026. And a finish line I’ll never forget. 🏅❤️ Yesterday, I crossed the finish line of the NYC Marathon feeling unbelievable gratitude. Living with Crohn’s disease has been one of the biggest challenges of my life. There have been some incredibly difficult days, years of uncertainty, treatments, setbacks, and moments when doing something like this seemed impossible. But yesterday, I proved something to myself. Not to anyone else, but to me. That despite everything my body has been through, that I could do this. It’s taken a long time to make it this far and im so proud 😊 It took everything I had, and I’m so grateful I got to experience it, New York City came alive and made it such an amazing day full of love sweat and plenty bittersweet tears 🥲❤️ To my incredible fiancée, thank you for standing beside me through the hardest moments, believing in me, and reminding me how far I’ve come. Your beautiful words before the race meant more than you’ll ever know. ❤️ A massive thank you to the @werunfoundation and the incredible team. Being part of something bigger than myself, raising money to support underprivileged youth communities and help create opportunities for the next generation, made this experience even more meaningful. 🙏 This journey has taught me to never take my health, my body, or the people around me for granted. Forever grateful. 💜🏅 #nycmarathon #WeRun #CrohnsDisease #RunningForACause #newyork
HU Staff: Ariela Anís @ari.anis Earlier this year former college football star Quinton Baker, 28, came out as gay to his girlfriend’s friend moments before getting into a sh**tout with Las Vegas Metro Police Department (LVMPD) officers and using his 3-year-old son as a hostage. His story is now resurfacing as the Clark County coroner admits they can’t determine if officers or Quinton killed the child during the sh**ting. ___________________________________________________ On February 3, Quinton and his son, Kentre Baker, were fatally sh*t as the father walked towards police, holding his son as hostage. In body-camera footage, Quinton holds Kentre in his left arm with his right hand holding a g*n, pointed at the child’s chest. Kentre’s mother, Raneka Pate, said things began after she and Quinton got into an argument upon him telling her friend “that he was gay.” Raneka said Quinton beat her up and threatened to k*ll himself and their son. According to LVMPD, officers fired several rounds at Quinton. At the time, LVMPD previously stated Quinton k*lled his son, who died from two g*nshot wounds. ___________________________________________________ But now, LVMPD and the Clark County coroner are having difficulty confirming if Quinton or officers fatally sh*t the child during the standoff. The report was shared during a fact-finding review on Wednesday (October 28) at the Clark County Commission chambers. While testifying on behalf of LVMPD, Detective Brian Walter said Quinton fired his g*n four times as he fell to the ground upon officers sh**ting him. Walter said the officer who fired his weapon first was not instructed to sh**t. On body-camera footage, a lieutenant instructed another officer, who was armed with a long g*n, to sh**t Quinton. Both officers fired a total of five rounds. In body-cam footage, the lieutenant yelled, “He’s holding a kid, you idiot. Why are we sh**ting a hundred shots?” It’s also reported that the Clark County District Attorney’s office declined to prosecute the two officers. ___________________________________________________ Click the link in bio for full story 📸 Facebook
