Ceremonial Worship – "Between Sleep and Death" (Eternal Death)
Greece has once again opened the gates to the underworld.
On "Between Sleep and Death", Ceremonial Worship embrace the spirit of the classic Hellenic black metal tradition while simultaneously carving out their own path through darkness. The result is a record built upon ancient atmospheres, ritualistic intensity and a constant feeling of solemn grandeur.
From the ominous introductory passage to the ferocity of tracks such as "Hate Spells", "Esoteric Struggle" and "Tower of Endless Nights", the band moves effortlessly between hypnotic repetition, epic melodies and raw aggression. Echoes of Rotting Christ, Nocternity, Kawir and even Celtic Frost can occasionally be perceived, but Ceremonial Worship never allow these influences to overshadow their own identity.
The production remains organic, dark and uncompromising, enhancing the album's ceremonial aura and reinforcing its devotion to the earliest manifestations of black metal. Rather than pursuing modern trends, the Greek duo chooses authenticity, atmosphere and devotion to the old ways.
"Between Sleep and Death" is not merely an album; it is a nocturnal invocation dedicated to those who still believe that black metal should feel mysterious, dangerous and timeless.
