This summer I got to spend three days at Tulane... not as a student, but as a teacher! 📚
I had the pleasure of being part of the Newcomb Art Museum’s Summer Educator Workshop. For three days, I learned about the museum’s pottery and art collection through the lens of visual analysis. We learned how to properly handle sculptures, practiced the three steps of visual analysis, explored curating and collections, and I even left with a lesson that will help prepare my students for their upcoming field trip to Newcomb! 🎨@newcombmuseum
Special shoutout to Tom, Lex, and Sharay for making the experience so meaningful. 💙
I’m so excited about the ways Newcomb is engaging students in our community—and they even offered to host a field trip for my students! I can’t wait for them to experience everything the museum has to offer.📝
Extra special shoutout to Mama Vera
@readcbc for making me aware of this amazing opportunity. I’m so grateful! ✨
