God never intended for the world to disciple our children.
He entrusted them to us.
Yet every single day, voices compete for their hearts, their minds, and their identity.
The culture is preaching. Social media is discipling. Entertainment is shaping values.
The question is...
Who is shaping your child more—you or the world?
Scripture reminds us to "train up a child in the way he should go..." Long before the world tells them who they are, they should already know who God says they are.
Discipleship doesn't only happen during family devotions or Sunday service.
It happens in ordinary moments.
Around the dinner table. On the drive home. While folding laundry. During bedtime conversations. When they ask hard questions.
Sometimes they don't need another sermon.
They need a safe conversation. They need someone who will listen before speaking. They need parents who are present enough to guide their hearts, not just correct their behaviour.
And perhaps the loudest message they'll ever hear is the one we live.
Children are always watching.
They learn how to love by watching us love. They learn how to forgive by watching us forgive. They learn how to trust God by watching us trust Him.
Our lifestyle is often the sermon they will remember.
The years we have with our children are few, but the seeds we plant today can produce fruit for generations.
If we neglect the assignment God has given us, we shouldn't be surprised when the harvest reflects the seeds we failed to sow.
Let's pray with them. Let's open God's Word with them. Let's talk with them. Let's answer their questions with grace. Let's model a life that reflects Christ.
The battle for the next generation is already here.
May we not sleep through the season God has called us to steward.
