Vanessa Hernández Cruz

Excited to share a live excerpt of ‘Nycto-Eternity’ along with other incredible artists today Aug. 7th at @lmudance for Ballet Beyond Borders @ballet.beyond.borders Diplomacy Conference!

“Nycto-Eternity” Contemporary Ballet
Choreographed & Performed by: Vanessa Hernández Cruz

This excerpt of “Nycto-Eternity” dives into the story of the Moon Goddess who longs to intertwine with the Sun. The Forbidden Solar Paradise is where the Moon Goddess finds herself in an array of blissful hope that quickly transforms into something unworldly. This work challenges which kinds of professional dance bodies get to be presented and expands the possibility of storytelling through Disability aesthetics and embodied. Encouraging choreographers and presenters of all genres to commission disabled artists in their works and programming.

[Video Description: a clip from Nycto-Eternity Dance Film. Vanessa is a Moon Goddess where she is realizing she is trapped in the void. She is wearing a blue and black tutu dress and is dancing in a space that is like a void. She is on the floor looking around lost as she then spins and reaches forward to fall back and tries to grasp the air around her. A Black and white flashback appears of her dancing in a paradise looking world. Then it goes back to her in the void. Clip fades. The text box on the left bottom corner reads:
