At 18, his father started charging him rent. At 30, he finally understood why. For 12 years, he handed over part of his hard-earned money every month. He thought his father was being unnecessarily strict, especially when other parents let their children live at home for free. But on his wedding day, his father surprised him with something he never expected. A notebook documenting every rent payment he'd made over the years, along with a savings account containing all that money, plus interest. What he believed was money lost had quietly been building his financial future. His father hadn't been collecting rent to make a profit. He had been teaching his son how to budget, stay consistent, and take responsibility for his finances. And when the time came to begin a new chapter of his life, those years of discipline became a financial head start. The lesson? Sometimes, the greatest gift a parent can give isn't money itself, but the habits that teach their children how to manage it. It's a powerful story about patience, financial responsibility, and a father's love expressed through actions rather than words. Whether this story is true or simply a lesson passed down, its message is worth remembering. Good parenting isn't always about making life easier today. Sometimes, it's about preparing your children for tomorrow. Would you use this approach to teach your children financial responsibility? He posted it himself, in his own words, with the heart-eyes for emphasis. He keeps his Texas residence at his parents’ house so he can turn Texas blue, because voting Democrat in New York City is like pissing into the ocean. Read that again slowly. A man who lives in New York is telling the world he votes in Texas, at an address where he does not live, because his vote counts for more there. If the boast is true, that is not a clever trick. That is voting where you do not live, and voting where you do not live is illegal in every state in the union, including Texas. The law is not complicated, and it is not a technicality. You vote where you live. Your residence is where your life is, not where your parents keep a spare room and your mail piles up. If his bed, his job, and his days are in New York, then his parents’ Texas address is not his residence, no matter how much he wants the state to turn blue. Domicile is not a feeling and it is not a strategy. It is a fact, and facts have addresses. Wanting it does not make it legal. Posting it does not make it brave. It makes it evidence. This is why the rolls matter, and why the residency rules matter, and why proof of citizenship and clean voter lists are not suppression but sanity. Every cycle the same people laugh at the idea that anyone would game the system, and every cycle someone posts the game plan in public with emojis. Texas has two days to decide a Senate race by a point or two. A point or two is exactly the margin a borrowed address is built to steal. Check the rolls. Enforce the law. The boast is already written down. All that is left is whether anyone does anything about it.
