Tokyo 8.30 - 9.3. The Japan hangover is real. We feel the same way a lot of Americans on Reddit do. It’s hard to describe the sense of loss because it easily conflates with being home, facing the familiar routines, again, and that always happens with a homecoming. We were only there for four nights, but the clean streets and quiet subways belie a city of 28 million. It might also be the kind decorum and the sense of peace in community that have me wondering, why don’t I feel this way in America?
