L4-L5 spondylolisthesis occurs when L4 shifts forward relative to L5. Degeneration of the discs and facet joints can contribute to this change and may affect the stability of the lumbar spine.
It may be associated with lower back pain, stiffness, buttock or leg pain, tingling, numbness, burning sensations, foraminal narrowing, or spinal stenosis when nearby nerves are affected.
