The Moss Park Project ✨

This project is the perfect example of why I believe an interior designer should be involved before construction begins—especially when remodeling kitchens and bathrooms.

When I joined the project, the plans and layouts had already been finalized and construction was underway. My role was to step in, refine the design, select the finishes, and help navigate several functional and flow issues that became apparent along the way.

We were able to catch and correct a few things. Others, unfortunately, were already too far along to change without significantly impacting the project.

And while the finished spaces turned out beautifully, as a designer, I can still see the opportunities we could have captured had I been involved from day one.

That’s why I tell my clients: If you’re remodeling any part of your home and hiring your own contractor, bring in a designer who specializes in that space early. A good designer isn’t there just to choose tile, cabinets and pretty finishes. We’re thinking about how you’ll actually live in the space—function, clearances, flow, lighting, storage, sightlines and all those little details that are much easier (and usually much less expensive!) to address on paper than during construction.

The best part? My clients are ready for their kitchen renovation next—and this time, I’m involved from the very beginning. 😉

Live and learn. I can’t wait to show you what we create next.
