“IDM 2026 – International Speed Surfing Highlight on Fehmarn!
49 riders took to the start, including many new faces who wanted to experience the speed surfing hype, as well as international top riders known worldwide. The wind forecast was promising, and right after the first registration day, we could start in the afternoon. However, despite a good forecast, the wind weakened on the race days, making it challenging to choose the right gear. We battled through heavy rain, but the motivation stayed high. In the end, we completed 8 exciting races. Everyone had the chance to improve or climb the ranks. The atmosphere was incredible, and we celebrated with a fantastic awards ceremony. Although we would have loved to do two or three more races, I’m beyond happy: I achieved 2nd place in the Grandmaster class and 5th place overall. The 4th place rider was tied with me, but his fastest run was 0.287 hundredths of a second quicker, so I ended up in 5th place. It was close, but I’m extremely satisfied. It was so much fun, and I was able to deliver my best performance for the most part. I also want to highlight that we were 5 Duotone team riders, and we managed to place 5 riders in the top 7, which is an amazing success for Duotone as a windsurfing team. A huge thank you to Duotone for the great support and to Ottmar’s Hurricane Fin, which really pushed me forward.
