Why are these bolts sticking out of the concrete?
These anchor bolts are embedded in the foundation before the steel column is installed.
The base plate is aligned with the bolts, lowered into position, and secured with nuts.
This creates a stable connection between the steel column and the concrete foundation.

@mikem101963 The base plate doesn’t sit directly on the concrete at first. The leveling nuts set the correct elevation and keep the column plumb. After alignment, non-shrink grout fills the gap under the base plate and provides full bearing support.

@gerardcalandre Bonne remarque. Cette vidéo est une visualisation du principe d’installation. Sur un projet réel, le diamètre des goujons d’ancrage, la platine et les assemblages sont dimensionnés selon les charges, le vent/séisme, le béton et les normes du projet.
