Where do I begin?
Our dear friend Kris Calhoun introduced us to The Revivalists so many moons ago. We have a framed poster ornamenting our home from a night at the Orpheum Theater New Orleans circa 2016. The band dressed up in theme for each song, gave us a New Year’s Eve show we still talk about now.
Fast forward to a sleepless night I had a couple of years ago. Traveled down TikTok and found The Red Clay Strays, woke up and told my husband about it.
Went to see the them all the way in Oklahoma (not my favorite drive) on a movement of music and never looked back.
So, our two FAVORITE bands announced a show a year ago and I’ll be damned if I didn’t just purchase two tickets immediately. What were the odds of our favorite band opening for our newest favorite band? Unlikely to happen again. Kismet.
I know that I believe in a lot, but the two of them colliding at Madison Square Garden like they did for this show was most certainly a beyond pinch me experience. It was our first time there too.
I’ve never danced in the seats, all night, twirls and all, but I did. We did. Like the garden was our dance floor. And it was glorious.
I guess my point is, follow the music. It will serve your soul.
PS - this gold beauty will soon be framed in our home. What a memory.
