MSU-IIT proudly joins the celebration of the 59th ASEAN Month by hosting a special flag hoisting in today’s flag-raising ceremony, August 17, at the University Lawn.

MSU-IIT officials, faculty, staff, students, and international guests wore ASEAN-inspired attire to represent and showcase the cultural diversity of the 10-member states.

International guests from the Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Malaysia, who attended the ceremony, also performed a heartfelt song to the crowd.

Chancellor Alizedney Ditucalan emphasized the collective network shared by ASEAN countries, “Through this hoisting of ASEAN flags, we celebrate both our distinct national identity and the unity we share as one regional community.”

“Indeed, each flag carries the history, culture, aspirations, and people of a nation; raised together, they remind us that our diversity is not a barrier to cooperation; it is one of ASEAN’s greatest strengths,” the Chancellor said.

This year’s theme is “Navigating Our Future, Together,” a message highlighting regional unity and digital transformation and innovation across Southeast Asia.
