The intent behind design choices is an interesting discussion, because ultimately we are balancing our own sensibilities and beliefs against the reality of the market - hopefully building a sustainable company that enables that expression to continue.

We all suspect that some decisions are made to capitalise on trends and/or to create higher margins, but we don’t often challenge brands for an answer. 

I believe there’s a real opportunity to develop greater transparency within the watch industry and in doing so find something increasingly valuable - authenticity. Truth. As someone who’s been more on the fringes of the industry and seen behind the proverbial curtain of design, manufacturing and marketing, I often wonder how our perception of brands and their products might change if that veil were lifted.
