Since I incorporate a lot of traditional cloths and kente into my paintings, I decided to take a trip to the kente weaving workshop at Bonwire, to learn how they create our colorful kente cloths.

It was fascinating to see how these master weavers coordinate their hands and feet on a traditional loom to produce these intricate geometric patterns.

And more intriguing to learn how it takes days, to create a single strip of cloth… And the many weeks, it takes, to come up with a large cloth of kente.
