If Only For a Moment....
Once a year, the veil is thin enough.
Once a decade, they’re allowed to pass by.
Once a generation, they watch from afar.
Once in a lifetime though, every star in the realms line up so they can reunite and dance for just one minute... reliving a long past first dance.
Their senses soak up and savor every scent, touch, and glance to pack away and savor only in their hearts once they walk alone once more.
Only when they realize the fade is already setting in does one speak, while the other listens and take turns. No time is wasted in this sacred space.
“Je t’aime, Mon Roi.”, she whispers to his neck.
“Rakastan sinua, Ma Reine.!”, he replies into her floating hair... sealing a promise of next time with a kiss at her temple as they both succumb to the vanishing with bittersweet expressions.
Whether in this form or another, they’ll keep on finding each other, as they always have and always will. Time isn’t linear when it’s retroactive destiny.
